Banksy is one of the most influential  and elusive  figures in contemporary art. Emerging from Bristol’s street-art scene in the 1990s, the anonymous British artist transformed the stencil into a powerful visual language, combining dark humour, political commentary and striking simplicity.

In 2018, Banksy created one of the most memorable moments in auction history when Girl with Balloon partially shredded itself moments after being sold at Sotheby’s in London. The transformed work was subsequently renamed Love is in the Bin — turning an auction-room intervention into an artwork in its own right.
